From the materials we source to the ways we empower our team, sustainability is embedded into all.
For over 60 years, we’ve been committed to ethical and environmentally conscious manufacturing, ensuring every component we produce not only meets high standards of quality, but also contributes to a healthier planet.
When it comes to sourcing our materials, we use the same level of care and attention as with all our work. Every piece of wood making its way through our factory comes from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved sustainable forests. And don’t just take our word for it, as an EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation) and EUTR (EU Timber Regulation) certified company, you can trace our timber from forest to factory.
By working closely with mills in Indonesia, we’re able to produce wood to our high standards while supporting local communities in a growing economy. We collaborate with staff to help them implement best practices, ensuring quality is controlled from the outset.
Not everything is FSC. You can join a chain of custody, so the people who grow it We buy FSC materials and we ensure our processes uphold FSC standards. This maintains a chain of custody that can be traced from the forest to the end user.
Most of our clients are not legally required to uphold FSC certification standards, but our adherence to these protocols offers clients the extra peace of mind that we've been mindful of environmental concerns throughout our supply chain.
We aim to keep residual waste from our manufacturing process to a minimum to a minimum – both in our UK facilities and our suppliers’ mills – so we ensure it serves a purpose whenever possible. Any by-products or waste materials from our production processes are converted into fuel, which is used to power our workshops, helping reduce waste and create a more circular economy.
Our clever designs mean that products can be reused or repurposed before their disposal.
Our products have long lifecycles. If they can't be reused by the client, they can be sold and given a new life.
By creating high quality products, we ensure they last as long as possible.
We adopt circular economy practices and consider our products' entire lifecycle.
If a product does eventually come to the end of its useful life, all of our timber products and their coatings are fully recyclable.
We rely on container shipping to transport most of our products, which is one of the most carbon-efficient methods available. The majority of our carbon footprint arises from transport within the UK, but we’re always on the look-out for new ways to reduce our impact and explore greener options.
We're committed to solving problems, rather than simply offsetting them with carbon credits.
All of our manufacturing instructions are stored on a large database. Large screens in our workshop display plans so that we can minimise our paper usage.
We harness the power of Big Data and we automate processes wherever possible, ensuring a streamlined process that reduces the potential for human error.
We go above and beyond when it comes to cybersecurity. Our systems are among the most robust in the industry.
We're setting new standards in adhesive technologies.
It's not about what’s easier. It’s about what’s best. We invest heavily in the welfare of team and we go to great lengths to ensure we protect the welfare of our planet through our sustainability efforts.
Our R&D team are always on the look out for new and emerging technologies that could improve the efficiency of the service that we provide.
We know that every order is as unique as the customer placing it. That’s why we don’t impose any order quantity requirements. Whether you need 1 product or 10,000, we’re equipped to work to your needs and make the exact quantity of components you require, meaning nothing gets wasted.
All our components are made to order to the exact quantity and specifications of the client, cutting out waste products and saving on surplus stock. We believe this makes for happier customers and a happier planet.
With everything made to measure down to 0.001mm, and glue applied in accuracy to within a gram per square metre, there’s no waste material or margin for error. We get it right first time.
We don’t use our resources to create products to put into stock. Everything made to order to date and to quantity. No warehouse of finished stock. Completely aligned to customer’s manufacturing process. Tier 1 supplier. We work to meet the customer’s demand, day by day, minute by minute.
