We care just as much about the planet as we do about our people. That’s why we go above and beyond legal requirements, voluntarily adhering to internationally recognised Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) and safety standards.

One of the most important frameworks we follow is ISO 14001, the global standard for effective environmental management systems.

What Is ISO 14001?

ISO 14001 sets out criteria for building a structured, measurable approach to managing environmental responsibilities. It helps organisations to not only comply with environmental laws, but also embed sustainable practices into their everyday operations.

At Lambson Innovate, ISO 14001 guides us in:

  • Environmental stewardship: Using resources efficiently and minimising waste at every stage.
  • Regulatory compliance: Ensuring all processes meet or exceed environmental legislation.
  • Sustainable operations: Integrating responsible practices, from sourcing through to production.

Responsible Sourcing and Supply Chain Transparency

Every piece of wood we use comes from Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) approved sustainable forests. This ensures responsible forest management and gives our clients full supply chain transparency. FSC certification is available upon request.

We also go further:

  • We’re in the process of aligning our sourcing with the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) requirements ahead of the regulatory deadline.
  • We’re complying with the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) to prevent illegal timber entering our supply chain.
  • We’re collaborating with reputable mills and suppliers globally to support both local economies and best forestry practices.

Circular Economy and Waste Reduction

Our production is built around circular economy principles: Make, Use, Reuse, Renew, Recycle, Redesign.

Here’s how that works in practice:

  • Waste from our UK facilities is repurposed as fuel for workshops.
  • Products are designed for long life, with materials suitable for reuse, repurposing, and recycling.
  • All timber products and coatings are recyclable.
  • Every order is manufactured to exact client specifications – no surplus stock and no unnecessary waste.
  • Precision manufacturing down to 0.001mm ensures minimal offcuts.
  • If a waste product cannot be reused or repurposed, it is sent to a purpose-built recycling facility that ensures as little as possible is wasted.

Minimising Our Carbon Footprint

Transport plays a big role in sustainability. We primarily use container ships to transport our timber as it is one of the most carbon-efficient transport methods. We’re always looking for greener ways to move materials and products, and our focus is on practical solutions to reduce environmental impact, rather than carbon offsetting.

Setting Standards, Not Just Meeting Them

We comply with ISO 9000, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001 to ensure our clients’ ESG metrics are consistent across their supply chains. These certifications serve as clear proof of our unwavering commitment to quality, sustainability, and integrity.

From marine to motorhome and leisure industries, our sustainability principles run through all of our processes; not because it checks a box, but because it’s the right thing to do.

If you have any questions about our certifications, reach out to a member of the team. We’d be happy to help.
