GiANT Leadership Voices

At Lambson Innovate, we’re firm believers in nurturing our people so they can flourish in their roles. The GiANT leadership development tool is just one of the ways we ensure we provide the right opportunities for our team members.

The GiANT methodology was introduced to us by our partners at Think GiANT. By assessing each employee’s leadership voice, we can ensure we’re mindful of how each person works. This highly individualised framework enables us to better understand each member of our team and give them tailored opportunities to aid their personal and professional development.

Today, we’re taking a closer look at why we use it, how it works, and the difference it makes at Lambson Innovate.

GiANT Leadership Voices

Why GiANT Leadership Development?

  1. Focus on Strengths
Traditional leadership tests often box individuals into static categories. GiANT shifts the emphasis onto celebrating and building on what people naturally do best, helping them realise their full potential.
  2. Better Team Dynamics
When you understand how each person communicates, leads, or collaborates, you can build a more harmonious workplace. GiANT shows us each person’s “voice,” which clarifies how they best contribute to the team and how they prefer to be supported.
  3. Leadership and Growth
By highlighting individual strengths and development areas, GiANT helps leaders to tailor their approach to different team members. This opens the door to more engaging leadership styles that resonate with the unique traits of each employee, and it encourages empathy.

How the GiANT Framework Works

  1. The 5 Voices
GiANT identifies five primary “voices”: Nurturer, Creative, Guardian, Connector, and Pioneer. Each voice has its own strengths, motivators, and communication styles. Employees usually have a dominant voice that shapes their natural way of interacting with others.
  2. Self-Assessment and Reflection
The process starts with a self-assessment, enabling individuals to explore their traits in an honest and constructive way. By reading through detailed descriptions, they begin to see which voice resonates the most with them.
  3. Team Collaboration
GiANT then brings these voices together to encourage mutual understanding. Employees learn about others’ preferences. For instance, a Pioneer’s preference for big-picture thinking contrasts with a Guardian’s eye for detail. By identifying these differences, teams can avoid miscommunication and capitalise on each other’s strengths.
  4. Practical Tools and Strategies
GiANT goes a step further by equipping teams with practical strategies. These tools might include structured feedback guidelines, tips for communicating with each voice, and leadership techniques that honour individual styles.
  5. Ongoing Development
GiANT is not a one-time snapshot. Like any worthwhile development tool, it’s most effective when used long term. Once teams understand their voices, they can revisit these insights regularly, applying them to team projects, training programmes, and day-to-day interactions.

GiANT Leadership Voices

How GiANT Works at Lambson Innovate

Since we administered GiANT training to our team, we’ve noticed a real difference in our communication.

By recognising each other’s voices, team members quickly adapt their language and approach, reducing tension and misunderstandings. People feel valued and motivated when their unique strengths are acknowledged, and through this methodology we’ve been able to provide the right support and guidance to each person, boosting overall morale.

After taking the test, many of our team members became more aware of their individual potential and learned new ways to leverage their strengths. This has led to some people switching or adapting their job roles to ensure they’re playing to their strengths.

We use GiANT alongside our mental health and leadership development programmes to create a truly supportive environment where everyone’s unique voice is valued. This helps us ensure that each team member’s path is tailored to them, so they continue to grow, collaborate effectively, and enjoy a vibrant workplace culture.
