Last month, Rob Lawrence and Steve Morley flew out to Boot Düsseldorf to the world’s largest indoor boats and watersports showcase.

Boot Düsseldorf is a truly staggering event. This year’s show attracted over 200,000 visitors from 120 countries, with more than 1,500 exhibitors spread across 17 halls. The exhibition showcased everything from scuba diving and surfing gear right through to superyachts, catamarans, and sailing boats – if it’s connected to water, it’s there.

For Rob and Steve, the highlight of the exhibition was something that might sound simple but rarely happens in manufacturing – seeing Lambson products in their final setting.

When you work with the biggest and best in the marine industry, you’re focused on getting every detail right before it leaves your facility. What you don’t always get to see is how that work looks once it’s been fitted, finished, and putto use. Boot Düsseldorf gave Rob and Steve the chance to see exactly that, and it was a reminder of just how impressive the end results are when Lambson’s precision engineering meets world-class yacht design.

Catching Up with Princess Yachts

It was also a great opportunity for us to connect with existing clients, including Princess Yachts. Rob and Steve caught up with the Princess team and had the chance to speak with their Principle Creative Designer & Design Studio Manager – an invaluable conversation for understanding where the industry is heading and how Lambson can continue to deliver the solutions its clients need.

Inspiration, Networking, and Nearly 9 Miles a Day

Boot Düsseldorf isn’t a show you can stroll around in an afternoon. Rob and Steve clocked nearly nine miles of walking on both days and still felt there was more to see. Beyond the sore feet, they came back with plenty of fresh ideas, new connections, and a renewed sense of where the opportunities lie for Lambson in the marine sector.

Events like Boot Düsseldorf are invaluable for staying close to the industries we serve. Seeing our work out in the world, building relationships with clients like Princess Yachts, and keeping our finger on the pulse of innovation all feeds back into what we do and how we do it.

We’re already looking forward to next year.
