Environmental impact considerations have become central to manufacturing processes, with more and more governments and trading bodies enforcing stringent environmental controls.

Lambson Innovate uses a lot of timber. We’re not yet legally required to submit environmental, social, and governance metrics (ESG) for third-party review, but we know how important these concerns are to our clients, so we hold ourselves to the government’s SECR standards anyway.

Sustainable practices are foundational to Lambson Innovate’s business philosophy. We firmly believe in delivering premium products while preserving our planet’s resources. This commitment has led us to establish comprehensive protocols, ensuring all of the wood products we manufacture originate from responsibly managed forests. Sustainable forest in Indonesia

What does it mean to be FSC Certified?

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international, non-governmental organisation that promotes the environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable management of the world’s forests. The FSC was founded in 1994 and, since then, it has gone on to become the world’s most respected forest certification system.

As an FSC-certified company, Lambson Building Products adheres to the strict standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council. This certification verifies that our processes align with global best practices for forest conservation and management. The FSC certification encompasses strict criteria, examining forest management practices, conservation efforts, and the social impact of timber harvesting operations.

FSC certification involves thorough third-party auditing of forest management operations to confirm adherence to principles that protect forest ecosystems and ensure long-term viability.

Full Transparency, From Forest to Factory

Lambson Innovate maintains a fully traceable supply chain that allows clients to track timber from its origin forest to our factory floor. This level of transparency demonstrates our commitment to ethical sourcing, while providing clients with the assurance that they’re partnering with a company that values accountability.

European Union Timber Regulation (EUTR) Compliance

The EUTR was developed to combat illegal logging, ensuring all timber trade throughout the European member states is responsibly sourced. Lambson is fully EUTR compliant, meaning our clients can trade all of our products within Europe without encountering issues with supply chains.

Working towards European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) Compliance

The EUDR comes into effect in January 2026, requiring all timber products to be geo-tagged so that they’re fully traceable down to their specific forest.

We’re in the process of working towards this regulation, to ensure we’re at compliance when these rules come into effect. Our traceability systems employ advanced documentation and verification protocols at every transition point in the supply chain.

When timber leaves its forest of origin, it will receive a unique identification marker that will follow it through processing, transport, and manufacturing. These markers link to documentation, detailing harvest locations, dates, and compliance with local forestry regulations. For clients operating in heavily regulated industries or with stringent corporate social responsibility requirements, this documentation will prove invaluable.

Supporting Your Environmental Standards

We understand that many of our clients maintain their own environmental commitments. To support these efforts, Lambson Innovate can provide FSC certification documentation upon request, enabling you to uphold your standards across your own supply chain and comply with relevant regulations.

This service is particularly valuable for projects requiring formal environmental certification or for organisations with established sustainability frameworks.

Championing Global Conservation Efforts

Lambson Innovate proudly supports global initiatives aimed at halting deforestation and promoting sustainable land use. We recognise that preserving forest ecosystems remains critical for biodiversity conservation, climate stability, and the well-being of forest-dependent communities. Our business practices align with international conservation goals, including those established under frameworks such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
